KDE: How do I switch between desktop spaces? Am I stupid :|
Ive been using Gnome for a very long time and thought id give kde another stab to see if I can enjoy it again.
Ive gotten quite attached to being able to switch desktops in Gnome via "CTRL+ALT+RIGHT/LEFT".
Any ideas how to do this in KDE, i have tried every key shortcut i can think of, and yet nothing seems to move, the only way i can switch desktops is to use my mouse :| which takes too long.
Please help if you know...... this is painful asking such a silly question....

This is not exactly a direct answer to your question, but what I do is use the 3dDesktop app and then bind CTL-D to that application so that I can switch using the keyboard.

Go to personal setting (configure desktop, main desktop menu) then go to regional and accessibility - then choose keyboard shortcuts.Once there, you can either see which key combination is set by default, or use your own custom combination.
Using [CTRL] + [TAB] will allow you to switch desktop spaces.
ctrl-tab doesn't work for me (switches tabs in chrome for me if the browser has focus)
I can't find how to setup ctrl-left/right to switch desktops. Using ctrl-f[1-4] works, but it is very clumsy and I don't like it one bit. I thought I could configure my linux desktop the way I want it ;-) this is no walled-garden!
so, a few years later - does anyone have an answer for KDE4.4 (I figured I would re-open the thread since a search for 'kde "switch desktop"' had this thread as one of the top results).
